A Different Kind of Art

Photo journalists amaze me. It’s something I don’t think I will ever have the ability to do. They go places polite society doesn’t want to go, and bring back a story. This collection of photos taken on the New York subway in the 80′s is the work of Sean Kernick over at 24 Flinching. It’s a collection of the work of three photographers. The whole collection is gritty; maybe even a little disturbing. The work of people like this is inspiring. The stories that are told through their images.

Any good artist should always be on the lookout for inspiration. That is why I am off tomorrow to see the Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibit at the SF MOMA. Not exactly the NYC subway in the 80′s, but inspiring none-the-less.
